The Zip-5 cutter/slitter
had been designed to
handle 5 fixed sizes of
cards produced by a
variety of printing
methods.
The Zip-5 machine uses a
fixed blade cassette to
remove a 10mm vertical
gutter from between the
two rows of cards and to
trim both edges of the
sheet.
A guillotine blade cuts
the sheet horizontally
as it advances through
the machine removing a
3mm gutter. Four fixed
lengths are selectable
from the control panel
and each one can be
finely adjusted to
compensate for printer
drift or paper stretch.
The adjustment is +/-
2mm in increments of
0.1mm. The combination
of in-line adjustable
slitting with
programmable guillotine
cutting allows common
products to be
accurately processed in
a single pass.
As all finished cards
are produced with gutter
cuts on all four edges,
the Zip-5 allows
designers to specify a
full bleed image.
Combined with a laser or
ink jet printer, the
Zip-5 allows business
cards & other
multiple-up products to
be produced with ease.
These are two cut sizes
available – the Zip5-89
has sizes 89x45, 89x50,
89x54, 89x95, 89x127mm
and the Zip5-85 has
sizes 85x45, 85x50,
85x54, 85x95, 85x127mm |
